Manac, a North American leader in semi-trailer manufacturing, is improving its maintenance and internal collaboration thanks to the integration of Guide TI, its computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), and Tervene, the daily management system (DMS).
The initial problem: managing work orders
Manac faced the daunting challenge of managing 300 to 400 new corrective work orders each week. Their process for creating, accepting, and tracking work orders was long and tedious, involving double entry of information into an email and then into Guide TI.
We lost 3 to 4 minutes per work order due to manual transcription, which is more than 20 hours per week. In addition, 10 to 15% of work orders needed to be recovered or duplicated.

An integrated solution: Guide TI and Tervene
At Manac, team leaders and supervisors use Tervene to manage daily operations. The maintenance team uses Guide TI to plan and organize work orders.
The integration between Tervene and Guide TI makes collaboration between operational and maintenance teams seamless.
A simplified process
- Problem identification: During a Gemba walk or audit, team leaders or supervisors identify a problem requiring maintenance intervention. They then use Tervene directly on their mobile device to document the situation.
- Creation of work orders: In a few clicks, supervisors create a detailed work order directly in Tervene, including photos and essential information. This work order is automatically transmitted to Guide TI.
- Taking charge: The maintenance team will immediately be notified of the new work order in Guide TI. They can then consult, analyze, and prioritize it.
- Resource planning: Guide TI allows the maintenance team to plan the resources to solve the problem effectively.
- Follow-up meetings: Thanks to the synchronization of Tervene and Guide TI, the supervisor can follow the progress of the work order and discuss it during meetings facilitated by Tervene.
The deployment was done quickly. In one week, everything was functional. Simplicity: that’s the word that best sums up this deployment.

Next steps
